给，送给

给 (gěi) can be used as a preposition to introduce the beneficiary or recipient of an action. It usually precedes the main verb:

Example:
我想给他买个生日蛋糕。
Wǒ xiǎng gěi tā mǎi ge shēngri dàngao.
I want to by him a birthday cake.

送给 sònggěi is a main verb meaning to give something to somebody.

Example:
这是我送给你的书。
Zhè shì wǒ sònggěi nǐ de shū.
This is the book I have bought for you
