Asking where somebody is from
You have already seen 你是哪国人？ and 你从哪里来？
The first question is used specifically to ask what country somebody is from, the second can be used to ask
for any location.
Another general way to ask where somebody is from is 你是哪里人？
Literally 'You are where person?' The answer can be a country, region or town.
