Ideograms

Ideograms provide an abstract representation of the concept denoted by a character. They are only a few of these characters, they don't have many strokes and consist of only a single component.

Here are some examples:

The basic numbers: 一 (yi), 二 (èr), 三 (sān)
上 (shàng) above, up
下 (xià) below, down
中 (zhōng) middle
