Wishes and needs
To express a wish, want or need you can use the following auxilary verbs:
想 (xiǎng) 'to wish','would like to' etc.
要 (yào) 'to want to, to have to'. Stronger then 想.
想要 (xiǎngyào) 'to want, to wish'
需要 (xūyào) 'to need, to require'
吧 particle
吧 is a sentence final particle. It softens the tone of a request or suggestion. There are many such particles in Chinese and 吧 is one of the most common ones. Note also the use of the 口 (mouth) component. This component appears with many sentence final particles.
吗 ma question particle
吧 ba 'suggestion' particle
呢 ne 'follow-up question' particle
啦 la particle indicating doubt or excitement
