Verb Object constructions

Some verb object constructions have become lexicalised so that the object is no longer perceived as part of the verb.

Example:
请客 (qǐngkè) to treat somebody. (Literally, 'invite guest')
吃饭 (chīfàn) to eat ('eat meal')
睡觉 (shuìjiào) to sleep ('sleep sleep')
