Adjectives
In Chinese adjectives can be used without a copula verb (
'to be').
In English you would say
"The weather is good".
In Chinese you can just say
天气好 (tiānqì hǎo), literally
'weather good'.
Some grammers call adjectives in this way 'stative verbs'. They can also be used in questions:
香山远吗?
(Xiāngshān yuǎn ma?)
'Is the Fragrant Mountain far away?'
