Talking about dates

The date format in Chinese is year (nián) followed by month (yuè) and day of the month (hào), that is from the larger unit to the smaller one. Years are spelled out as numerals, months are represented simply by the numbers one to twelve.

Example:
2001年十月十一号 (èrlínglíngyī nián shí yuè yī hào) 11th October 2001

The days of the weeks are formed by adding the numbers one to six after 星期 (xīngqī) or (zhōu). Sunday is 星期日 (xīngqīrì)
