The Chinese Horse
Lascaux
c. 15,000 BCE

Horses are the most frequent animal. But horses, bison, and wild cattle make up about 60 per cent . Humans are rare and generally poorly done. This is usually attributed to a theory that Paleolithic peoples considered an identifiable painting of a person a target for voodoo like black magic.

This is called the Chinese horse because it resembles the horses in China from Feraghana that the emperors loved. The horse has a full body and small slender legs.
