Laulima
Finally after about 10 long years the Laulima
testing app allows the option of seeing the questions you got wrong. So all of you who take online tests will
automatically see your wrong answers.
But read the warning below.
Please don’t be unethical or I will assign an F for
the course – and future UHWO students won’t be able to see their wrong test answers
like you can
While I'm
confident that the vast majority of students are ethical and would never do
such as thing I was raised in the crime capital of California. That means I
grew up around my share of hustlers. So while I am not accusing anyone, a
very small number of unethical students might consider sharing their wrong
answers with students in the current course and perhaps future
students. That would be unethical and a violation of the student conduct code.
The first time I find out
this is happening I will stop providing this option to all students for the
rest of my time teaching at UHWO. I personally like sharing wrong answers with
students so they can find out what they got wrong, learn, and do better on the
final exam. Trust me, my work load would be far
less if I stopped doing this.
Please oh please do not share wrong
answers with students present or future or this option will disappear for your
future UHWO compatriots. Your UHWO "descendants" are counting on you to be
ethical so that this wonderful learning tool will be available for UHWO
"generations" to come.
Lastly, if I catch either the person
who shares the answers and/or who receives them or both, I will assign an F
grade for the entire course.
This applies if your course has online
tests.
If you find any errors with the tests or
test questions please email me ASAP!
Not only will I “refund” you the test points, but I will give you a small amount of extra credit for each error you
spot! (The exact amount of extra credit
will be small and amount to about the worth of one test question for each
error.)
An “error” does not mean typographic errors or the weird symbols Laulima sometimes creates for apostrophes – although pointing
those out to me are appreciated. An error means the correct question in the
answer key is wrong. (I’ve seen a few created by the test publishers and I’ve
had a few of my own.) Before you email
me claiming this, PLEASE investigate the correct answer on your own. Before I will consider giving extra
credit you must tell me the correct answer and provide me the exact location of
the correct answer from either lecture or the readings. If you don’t provide
this “citation” of where the correct answer is found I will simply ignore your
request because you are wasting both of our valuable time.
Furthermore, please do not swamp me with superficial
claims in an attempt to raise your grade. I’ve
had several people do this in the past.
While I understand the desire to raise one’s grade, inudating
me with a bunch of poorly thought out, superficial arguments will result in me
eliminating this extra credit option for you and future students.
Pretty please don’t be “that” student. [That’s an attempt at humor.]
You
must write down the question number of the bad question or I will NOT be able look for the
error. No question number = no chance for extra credit. I’m not trying to be mean…it’s just the only way I can verify the
error.
