PC Users can click on the Start Menu, select Windows System, and click on Command Prompt. Alternatively, you can click on the Search Box in Windows 10 and type Command Prompt to locate the application. The icon is pictured below.
Then type in the following: ssh username@uhunix.hawaii.edu Where username should be replaced by your UH Username (the same as your Laulima username). Press the Enter key on your keyboard. If this is your first time logging in, you may have to type "yes" and press Enter on your keyboard to connect. Then type in your UH Password (the same as your Laulima password), and hit Enter. (Note: Your password will not be displayed while you type to protect your privacy). Your screen should look like the one below:
If you receive an error stating that the ssh command was not found, ensure OpenSSH is installed by following the steps in this support article. Alternatively, you can use other command line programs such as PuTTY. |
